## How the stratagem cards work

Pick a Warhammer 40,000 faction and its detachments, then print their stratagems as cards to cut and sleeve.

### What you pick

Every faction and every detachment of 11th edition is here, core stratagems included. Choose a faction from Imperium, Chaos or Xenos. All its detachments start selected: print the whole deck, or press None and pick yours. You cannot deselect single cards. Boarding Actions detachments stay hidden until you untick “Tournament legal only”. Core stratagems, army rules and your detachments’ rules start ticked too.

### What each card shows

Each card is 63.5 × 88.9 mm (2.5 × 3.5 inches), sized for standard sleeves. Stratagem cards show the name, CP cost, type where given, When, Target, Effect and any Restrictions text, and phase icons. The timing band is blue for your turn, red for your opponent’s, green for either. Long army and detachment rules run onto numbered cards.

### Printing the sheet

Choose A4 or Letter and a white or black border, then press Print. Each page holds nine cards, with dashed cut lines on every edge. In the print dialog, set scale to 100% (Actual size), because “Fit to page” shrinks every card. Set margins to None and background graphics on.

How do I make printable stratagem cards for 40k?

Pick your faction, deselect the detachments you don’t play and press Print. Each A4 or Letter page holds nine sleeve-sized cards with cut lines.

Can I save the 40k stratagem cards as a PDF?

Yes, if your browser’s print dialog offers a save-to-PDF destination. Choose it after pressing Print, with scale 100%, margins None and background graphics on.

Are the 40k 11th edition stratagems up to date?

They are as current as the site’s stored data. No live feed updates them. The “data snapshot” date at the foot of the tool marks the latest refresh, and some factions may be older.

Where are the Dark Angels or Space Wolves stratagems?

Choose Space Marines. Chapters have no faction entry, so their detachments, such as Saga of the Beastslayer, sit in that list.

Can this 40k stratagem card maker print card backs?

Yes. Tick “Print backs” for a page of backs, in a colour and mark you choose, after each page of cards. If double-sided printing lands them off centre, “Back alignment” shifts them up to 4 mm each way.
