§ WIN · 11th edition

ConverterAny 40k army list, turned into a .rosz that newrecruit.eu imports cleanly.

§ Input · a GW app export or a WTC list

Nothing leaves your browser.

How the converter works

Paste a 40k army list and check what matched before taking the .rosz to New Recruit.

What you paste

Paste a Warhammer 40,000 app export or a WTC-format tournament list, fenced with +++ or not. The converter skips Player and Discord lines at the top and reads several detachments and a Force Disposition. An app export's Incursion, Strike Force or Onslaught line sets the battle size. Otherwise you get the smallest size your points total fits, or Strike Force if the list has no total. A copy taken off the app's screen rather than its export, with no brackets around the costs, is repaired as it is read. A French export is read as French: its wording is understood, so the faction, detachment, battle size, warlord, enhancements and attachments all come through, and names are translated where the community translation New Recruit publishes covers them. A name it cannot translate is identified from the unit's points, its section and what it lists, and a unit resolved that way is marked Deduced; anything left appears under Problems with the French you pasted and the datasheets it could have been. The same paste works in Army List and Phase Plan.

What you get

Download .rosz saves your 40k army list as a zipped New Recruit roster, the same .rosz format BattleScribe used; Download .ros saves plain XML. Units keep their models, wargear, enhancements and warlord, plus leader attachments where your app export marks them. The file carries stat lines, weapon profiles and, for most units outside Legends and allies, ability text, so it doubles as a Warhammer 40k Tabletop Simulator army through Yellowscribe.

Where the data comes from

Your faction line picks one of the site's 11th edition catalogues, built from the community-maintained BSData files. If it matches none, the converter stops with an error. It matches unit, weapon and enhancement names against that catalogue, allowing small spelling differences. The file's points come from the catalogue rather than your list, and extra copies of some units cost their higher rate.

§ Questions

Can I convert a Warhammer 40k army list written in French?
Yes. Paste it as you would an English one. The French wording is understood outright, and names are translated where the data allows; a name that cannot be translated is identified from its points and section where that is unambiguous, and reported under Problems where it is not.
How do I import a 40k army list into New Recruit from text?
Paste the list, press Convert, then Download .rosz and import the file on newrecruit.eu. If Problems lists anything, the site asks you to confirm, since those items may be left out.
What happens when a unit or weapon doesn't match?
It appears under Problems; the rest of the list still converts. An unmatched unit stays out of the file; an unmatched weapon or enhancement drops from its unit.
Can I load an 11th edition list into Tabletop Simulator with Yellowscribe?
Yes. Upload the .rosz at yellowscribe.link and paste the code it gives you into the Yellowscribe mod. The file carries the stat lines and weapon profiles Yellowscribe reads.
Is my army list uploaded anywhere when I convert it?
No. Your browser parses the list, matches it and builds the file, fetching only your faction's catalogue and ability data from this site. Yellowscribe sees the file only if you upload it.
