How Army List builds your sheet
The units you field, set out as datasheet blocks on paper beside the battlefield.
What you paste
Paste a GW app export or a WTC-format list as text and press Build sheet. Your browser matches each unit to its datasheet in your faction’s 11th edition catalogue, and the tool never uploads the list. A unit whose name matches no datasheet gets no block, so compare the unit count on screen with what you pasted, or paste the list into the converter to see which names failed.
What each block shows
The blocks work as printable 40k data cards, one per unit, though identical units share a block marked ×2 or ×3. Each block holds stats and model counts, ranged and melee weapons with keywords, abilities, wound brackets and any enhancement. Leaders that your GW app export marks as attached print boxed with their unit. If an unconditional army or detachment rule improves a model’s invulnerable save or Feel No Pain, the stat line shows both values: 5+ ▸ 4+.
Printing the sheet
Choose A4 or Letter, then press Print sheet. The sheet prints black on white in one column, with a 9mm printer margin you can switch off. Army and detachment rules and a points summary print only if you tick them. The tool measures each block and sets page breaks to keep a unit, or a leader with its unit, on one page if it fits. It may move units out of list order to fill a page.
§ Questions
- How do I get printable 40k datasheets for only the units in my army?
- Paste your list, press Build sheet, then Print sheet. You get one datasheet block for each distinct unit the tool matched from your list, on A4 or Letter paper.
- Can I save my Warhammer 40k army list as a PDF?
- Yes. Press Print sheet and choose the save-as-PDF option in your browser’s print dialog. Set its margins to None: the Printer margin box, ticked by default, adds 9mm, and a second margin can upset the page breaks.
- Which 40k factions can I print datasheets for?
- Every faction with an 11th edition catalogue, Space Marine chapters included. Stats, weapons, keywords and points come from that catalogue. Ability and enhancement text comes from separate rules data, and the page and printed sheet flag any gaps.
